As a major part of CIEF, Global Opportunity Day Tech Summit (GODay) will take place in the main hall of China Import and Export Fair Complex, after the openning ceremony of CIEF 2019.
GODay selects and promotes the most outstanding technology solutions from Global Tech Base‘s international collaboration scope to the booming market in China.

In 2018, there were more than 6,000 companies from more than 20 countries and regions participated to CIEF, covering a new generation of high-tech industries such as information technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, etc. Many of the showcased projects are from academicians, research institutes and universities.
Last year, the GDP of Guangzhou reached 2.15 trillion Yuan, an increase of 7%, and the per capita GDP exceeded 20,000 US dollars. There are more than 150 scientific research institutions, more than 8,700 high-tech enterprises, nearly 170,000 technology-innovative enterprises, and incubator area of more than 9 million square meters in Guangzhou, accelerated and integrated with industrial chain, innovation chain, capital chain in Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Greater Bay Region.
This year, CIEF will showcase in more than 21,000 square meters of exhibition area, consists of more than 20 themes and more than 1,200 innovative projects. GODay Tech Summit is positioned to be the highest level amoug all events in CIEF 2019.

Q2: Do I need a Chinese Visa to attend to CIEF and GODay? How do I apply?
If you have more than a week time to apply for a Chinese Visa in your city/country, we will send you an official Invitation for Chinese Visa Application, and we encourage you to obtain the Visa in time.
However, Chinese Visa is no longer a must to travel to Guangzhou if you are from:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Monaco, Belarus, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
As of May 1st, travellers from the 53 countries above can now enjoy a 144-hour visa-free transit period when transferring through Guangzhou. This means you will need to make Guangzhou a stopover in your itinerary, to an onward destination.
Q3: What do I need to show immigration officers on arrival in China while applying for visa-free transit?
Foreign passengers that are eligible for visa-free transit should provide immigration officers with a valid passport or another form of international travel document as well as an onward ticket to a third country (or region) with confirmed dates and seats within 144 hours. Passengers should also fill out arrival cards for temporary entry and be ready to answer any questions raised by immigration officers. After your permit has been granted, you can then continue on through immigration. According to requirements, passengers must hold onward air tickets for a connecting flight that leaves within 144 hours.
Q4: If a foreigner enters China on a 144-hour visa exemption at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, can they visit other Chinese cities?
Passengers that enter through the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport must also depart from the same airport but can visit other cities in Guangdong in the meantime. 144-hour transit visa tourists should not leave Guangdong Province.
Q5: Could CIEF or GODay cover my travel expenses?
The organizing commitee only strives for creating investment opportunities and superior collaborative experience for you during CIEF. You will need to carry your own travel expenses.
